Qualifications

Recognised nationally by the BCU, the UKCC (UK Coaching Certificate), and the National Qualifications Framework, we offer BCU / UKKCC Level 1 and 2 Coach Awards. We also run the 2 star award and Foundation Safety and Rescue Training both pre-requisites for the BCU/UKCC level 1 coaching qualification.

The initial star awards are generic, encouraging paddlers to experience the various disciplines of Paddlesport availalbe, with paddlers 'specialising' at the Three Star Award.

All of our water rescue courses are administered by Rescue 3 Europe, whose courses are the only internationally recognised white water rescue courses. The courses we run include; Swift Water Rescue Technician Unit 1 (SRT), White Water Rescue Technician (WRT), Awareness Water Rescue, Basic Water Rescuer, Swift Water Rescue First Responder, Rescue from Vehicles in Water, Closed courses and more.

For people who want to supervise groups on indoor and outdoor climbing walls and towers, we run Climbing Wall Award Training, Assessment and Abseil Module Assessment courses. For those who wish to supervise a group on single pitch crags and climbing walls, we also offer Single Pitch Training and Assessment.

We offer a full range of HSE approved first aid training courses including Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, Emergency First Aid in the Outdoors, First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work Re-qualification, Paediatric First Aid Training and Closed First Aid Courses at a venue to suit you.

The most comprehensive river-guide training programmes in the world, IRGT utilizes a world-class, experiential based curriculum designed to teach the skills required to be a professional whitewater guide. Located within the Heart of the Himalayas, the Nepal 2012 IRGT Course operates within Asia’s most dynamic river systems. The raft guide training programme is the only expedition oriented course, where advanced outdoor instruction and environmental leadership combine.

New to the centre in 2012 is a range of RYA powerboat courses using our own centre console 115hp rib and smaller tiller steer craft. Courses are run as inland certification at a location close to the centre or Coastal certification run on the welsh coast. Courses include; RYA Level 1, RYA Level 2 and International Certificate of Competence.

The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is supported by Mountain Leader Training UK (MLTUK), the British Orienteering Federation (BOF), and Sports Leaders UK and is a progressive scheme based on three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. As a NNAS registered training provider, the Live the Adventure Ltd, deliver Bronze and Silver NNAS awards, offering navigation skill development and assessment to participants.
