You will also have logged your first groups with experience running your first coached sessions for a variety of groups and abilities.

This will then lead on to a six week training programme to prepare you for the next level of awards completing the pre-requisites and attending the training modules for your Single Pitch Climbing Award and BC UKCC Paddlesport Level 2 coach training, as well as gaining further additional governing body awards.  See Qualifications & Awards page for full list

ON COMPLETION OF THE 14 WEEK COURSE
Unlike many courses, we won’t prolong your training and assessment process for our benefit, as you don’t need to pay us to gain personal experience! The final part of our 6 week course we will be to action plan with you to go away and prepare for final assessments in terms of experience and the required logged hours allowing you to continue work and develop your personal experience in your own time, yet knowing we are on hand to mentor and advise. Then, when you are ready, come back for final assessments scheduled throughout the year.

RETURN FOR ASSESSMENTS
When you have completed your action plan, and met the requirements for assessment, then we will have a number of dates throughout the year where we can arrange for you return to complete your individual Mountain Training SPA and British Canoeing UKCC L2 assessments in familiar surroundings.

RETURN ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE 14 WEEK COURSE FEE

OPTION 2 – MODULAR 14 WEEK COURSE
Like the 14 week complete course this combines our nine week Instructor Academy and Advanced Academy at a reduced cost, but with the option to split the course into 2 modules over a period of time. This option suits those that do not have the experience to meet the pre-requisites to attend the 14 week complete course or those with time restrictions and may be more suited to those wishing to spread cost of training (see Prices and Funding). It allows a longer period of time to complete the course with the same training team to mentor and help you get into a career in the outdoors.

As long as you meet the initial nine week instructor academy pre-requisites you can book on this modular 14 week course. On completion of the first nine week module, the course Director will help you to action plan a development period, mentored by course tutors, to prepare you to gain the experience to return for a later five week module. On completion of this second module having achieved further skills training, additional qualifications and attended national governing body training courses you will again action plan under the guidance of course tutors to return when ready for final award assessments.
