Whether you are attending our 8 week outdoor instructor academy as a career start, or you fancy a change of direction, by the end of this course you will be ready to make the transition into the outdoor industry. Around 50% of our students are those new to the outdoor industry with relatively no experience and looking for a change of direction, with ages ranging from 18 to 50 years old. Maybe this is something you have always wanted to do but never known how to get into it or been put off by the idea of starting at the bottom of the ladder as a trainee. With the leisure and adventure industry constantly growing, with more and more work options around the world, this is the ideal stepping stone to get the training required to get straight into the industry, whether freelance, self-employed, part time, volunteer work, or overseas - this course is suitable for all.

Already into the outdoors?

If this is you then our 4 week advanced academy instructor course could be the ideal way to gain some top coaching and develop existing skills further.  With the addition of this new course, we can now offer you the next level of awards on a fast track, intensive, progression to the next level of instruction and coaching.  Ideally suited to those with previous experience in the outdoor industry wishing to gain a higher level of qualification or those who have completed the 8 week academy.  Our courses deliberately have low ratios and personal appraisals to ensure you get the training required to gain as high a level as possible.

Time out or travel plans?

Maybe you have plans to travel and want to combine some work and fun on the way. As a provider running trips and courses all over the world we can give you the skills and direct you into the abundance of opportunities for those with the right background to work in this growing world-wide industry. The UK sets the industry standards for outdoor instructor courses and qualifications around the world, so the training you get is well recognised. We have previous Academy students running climbing walls in Canada, and others just travelling whilst earning some money coaching along the way.
