Inclusive Live-In Facilities

Unlike similar outdoor instructor courses, all Academies are fully inclusive programmes with no hidden charges or additional accommodation costs.

The costs include:
Full board accommodation (dinner, bed, breakfast & lunch 7 days a week) in a purpose built log cabin or main centre accommodation located in our 30 acre site with dedicated facilities for our academy students,
Ample toilet & shower facilities,
Drying rooms and laundry facilities,
Lounge area with flat screen TV / DVD player in large communal lounge area,
Ample parking,
Free wifi internet connection throughout,
Fully equipped kit stores – all equipment is supplied and inclusive in the course costs for the duration of the course,
Specific academy training room fully media equipped for use as part of this course.

The Fighting Cocks pub is a located in the centre of the village.  It has regular live music sessions and sells award winning local beers. Closest shop is located in the village 200 metres away and is open Mon-Sat 10-5pm and Sun 10-12pm.

Facilities at the Outdoor Instructor Training Academy
The Outdoor Instructor Academy and all associated training courses run by Live the Adventure, orginally established in 1984 as the Old Vicarage Adventure Centre, offer one of the largest ranges of outdoor activities and widest variety of programmes and courses from its own 30 acre site.

The centre offers residential facilities for 55 set in its grounds and 50 on its fully erected campsite which is why we can ensure hands on coaching experience for Academy students and the opportunity of working with all ages and all abilities throughout the course as part of their outdoor instructor training.

The Live the Adventure has the following onsite facilities:

Specific academy training room fully media equipped for use as part of this course,
Large indoor hall,
Full fleet of centre vehicles used throughout the course,
On site static climbing wall and abseil tower, and 7 metre high mobile climbing wall,
Full fleet of highly maintained top range mountain bikes,
Zip wires,
High and low ropes course,
Artificial caving system,
Mountain board track,
Indoor and outdoor archery facilities,
Rifle range,
On site lake for canoeing, kayaking and raft building with a comprehensive range of kayaks and canoes for all levels,
BMX circuits,
Paintball arena,
Laser Tag woodland site,
Orienteering course.

Off Site Facilities
We are in the ideal location to make use of some fantastic facilities within 30 minutes of the centre.
Indoor heated pool – for kayak rescue practice and rolling
Clee Hills – for walking, mountain biking and navigation exercises
Wyre Forest – for walking and mountain biking
River Severn – this loops around us offering a large distance of river to use for training and journeys
River Teme – ideal for introductions to moving water

In addition to these we use a variety of local indoor climbing venues and travel further afield to experience some other river environments.
